Softball Recap: West Union Takes a Loss

West Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Jays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Olivia Lewis was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKenzie Stout, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

West Union's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Union will head out to take on Glenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington, they will venture away from home to challenge Fayetteville-Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
