Basketball Recap: Silver Bluff Triumphs

Silver Bluff was handed a 51-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Swansea Tigers out 47-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since December 12, 2023.

Silver Bluff had a senior duo take command as Deshawn Wells went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and Zyrell Williamson posted 13 points. What's more, Wells also posted a 45% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Camron Frazier was another key player, putting up six points.

Swansea's loss came despite strong showings from Zyshawn Jamison and Donnell Goodwin. Jamison put up 18 points and three steals, while Goodwin went 6 for 15 to rack up 12 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. That was a full 40% of Swansea's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Edmonds, who earned four points and six rebounds.

Silver Bluff's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Swansea, their loss was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fox Creek the next time they take the court. Swansea will host Fox Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Silver Bluff will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
