Softball Game Preview: Munford Cougars vs. Halls Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Munford Cougars take on Halls Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Munford will be strutting in after a victory while Halls will be coming in after a loss.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Munford and Bartlett have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. Munford came out on top against Bartlett by a score of 8-3. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Gabby Asbill was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Ellie Kate Billings was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Halls' offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central on Saturday. Halls has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Halls' defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Munford, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Munford beat Halls 13-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Does Munford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Halls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
