Baseball Recap: South East Takes a Loss

The South East Jaguars lost 12-3 to the Esperanza Aztecs on Saturday.

Delonte Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alejendro Pena, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

South East's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Esperanza, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South East will face off against Garfield at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Esperanza, they will square off against Sonora at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Raiders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
