Baseball Game Preview: Hubbard Eagles vs. Austintown-Fitch Falcons

The Hubbard Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Austintown-Fitch Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hubbard is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

On Monday, it was close, but Hubbard sidestepped Girard for an 8-6 victory. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, Austintown-Fitch beat Harding 4-1 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Hubbard pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Austintown-Fitch, their record is now 5-10.

Hubbard came up short against Austintown-Fitch when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 8-3. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
