Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Aggies vs. Haleyville Lions

Hamilton and Haleyville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Hamilton Aggies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Haleyville Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Haleyville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hamilton, who comes in off a win.

Hamilton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Lamar County 97-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Aggies have posted since February 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, Haleyville lost 68-48 to Carbon Hill on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 122nd).

Haleyville dropped their record down to 14-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 9-16.

Hamilton skirted past Haleyville 55-52 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Hamilton repeat their success, or does Haleyville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
