Evergreen - Clements recap Oct. 31, 2012
Proctor Academy extended the longest winning streak in Evergreen - Clements this week by beating Portsmouth Abbey, 41-20. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Hornets.
Pingree moved up to 41 from 169 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Highlanders were able to make move up by beating Tilton School 55-34.
New Hampton School's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Milan Murray threw for 70 and one touchdown and Anthony Pate had 67 yards receiving. On the ground Todd Collier chipped in 236 yards. Carter Dillon helped New Hampton School's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Dillon made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Huskies topped Hyde. The 6-foot-1 sophomore grabbed one interception and grabbed one sack.
New Hampton School's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Huskies feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Murray has thrown for 529 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Matthew Dean has 18 catches for 365 yards. Collier leads the league in rushing with 921 yards.
The top two teams in Evergreen - Clements will face off this week when first place Proctor Academy takes on second place New Hampton School. Proctor Academy beat the Ravens last week, while New Hampton School topped the Phoenix.
The Huskies' Collier is a mere 79 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
