Dixon won the last time they faced Byron and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dukes & Duchesses narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dukes & Duchesses.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Dixon got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 22-25, 25-8.

Leah Carlson paced Dixon's offense, picking up 16 kills. Carlson got some help from Presley Lappin and her 20 assists. Carlson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Dixon's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Byron, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dixon will face off against rival Genoa-Kingston at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Byron is set to square off against their familiar foe North Boone at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
