Softball Recap: Mccutcheon Extends Winning Streak to Three

McCutcheon put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Rossville Hornets.

Molly Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits.

At the plate, Sydney Osborn was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emma Wykoff was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Osborn wasn't the only one making solid contact: McCutcheon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

McCutcheon's record is now 3-0. As for Rossville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, McCutcheon will challenge Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Mavericks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Rossville, they will square off against Lafayette Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
