Soccer Game Preview: Northside vs. Montevallo

The Northside Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Montevallo Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside has given up an average of 2.9 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northside lost 7-1 to American Christian Academy on Thursday. Northside were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-1.

Their goal came courtesy of Carlee Bates, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Montevallo kept a clean sheet against Tarrant on Thursday. They blew past the Wildcats 10-0. Montevallo might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Montevallo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those six games. As for Northside, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Northside couldn't quite get it done against Montevallo when the teams last played back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
