Baseball Recap: Grace Academy Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Forsyth Home Educators, Grace Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Lee Park Prep Knights. Considering the Lions have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Michael Im was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Mcnamara, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Grace Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee Park Prep only posted an OBP of .409.

Grace Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. Lee Park Prep is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Grace Academy will challenge rival Union Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lee Park Prep is set to square off against their familiar foe Alexander Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Lee Park Prep's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
