Smithtown East extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 13-2 in the process. They came out on top against the Copiague Eagles by a score of 5-2. That's more bragging rights for the Bulls, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Copiague, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Copiague's part, Aidan Roman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks. Roman has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Copiague saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Gutierrez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Jeremy Clase also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Smithtown East will have a chance to go back-to-back against Copiague: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
