Softball Recap: Scituate Comes Up Short

Barrington hit Scituate with a six-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell 9-6 to the Eagles. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Victoria Geisser and Isabella Defusco did some serious damage despite the final result: Geisser went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple, while Defusco got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was Defusco's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Maggiacomo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Scituate and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Barrington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Scituate wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 loss against Toll Gate on the 29th. As for Barrington, they have also already played their next match, a 12-8 win against Westerly on the 30th.
