Varela put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Hialeah Gardens Gladiators with a sharp 3-0 victory. For the Vipers, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Gladiators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Varela was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-10, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Varela to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jose Santos, who had four aces and three digs. Those four aces gave Santos a new career-high. Sebastian Hidalgo was another key player, getting ten digs and four aces.

Santos wasn't the only good server: Varela was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Varela's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Hialeah Gardens, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Varela didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Cypress Bay on the 18th. As for Hialeah Gardens, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Ferguson on the 19th.
