Volleyball Preview: Gray's Creek Bears vs. Cape Fear Colts
Gray's Creek and Cape Fear are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Gray's Creek Bears will take on the Cape Fear Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Last Thursday, everything went Gray's Creek's way against Jack Britt as Gray's Creek made off with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-10, 25-18.
Gray's Creek can attribute much of their success to Taryn Slyvester, who had 17 digs and two aces, and Haylee Wells, who had nine digs.
Meanwhile, Cape Fear waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Tigers 3-0.
After all that action, the final score was 25-15, 25-19, 25-13.
Gray's Creek's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Cape Fear, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
