It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Brighton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Viewmont Vikings 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Brighton were the better team in the second half.

Jackie Scott and Charlotte Jacobsen scored both of Brighton's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Brighton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Viewmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Brighton is set to challenge their familiar foe Olympus at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Viewmont will take on rival Woods Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
