Volleyball Game Preview: Colorado Academy Mustangs vs. Jefferson Academy Jaguars + How To Watch

The Colorado Academy Mustangs will head out to challenge the Jefferson Academy Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Colorado Academy has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Colorado Academy will bounce into Monday's match after beating Prospect Ridge Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Miners on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Miners since October 18, 2018.

Colorado Academy took Prospect Ridge Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-14, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to The Academy. While the Jaguars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-21 in the first set.

Jefferson Academy couldn't get the win, but they sure gave The Academy a tough time in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 30-28, 25-22.

Jefferson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Colorado Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Colorado Academy beat Jefferson Academy 3-1 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
