Preview: Ben Davis Giants vs. Brownsburg Bulldogs

Ben Davis is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Brownsburg is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in the nation (Ben Davis is ranked 64th, while Brownsburg is ranked 66th).

A well-balanced attack led Ben Davis over North Central in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Ben Davis blew North Central out of the water with a 50-3 final score. The result was nothing new for Ben Davis, who have now won six matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

Ben Davis can attribute much of their success to Cameron Morrison, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Morrison was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Alijah Price was in the mix too, providing Ben Davis with two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Brownsburg earned a 21-14 win over Hamilton Southeastern on Friday.

Garrett Sherrell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 194 yards and two touchdowns. Sherrell is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Hamilton Southeastern to a paltry 241 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Brownsburg's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Ariyan Ballance and his two sacks.

Their wins bumped Ben Davis to 8-1 and Brownsburg to 9-0.

Ben Davis was dealt a bruising 48-20 defeat at the hands of Brownsburg when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Ben Davis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
