Softball Recap: Copper Canyon Comes Up Short

Copper Canyon had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-15 to make it four. They lost 18-2 to the Lee Williams Volunteers. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Aztecs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Goldie Chambers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

As for Lee Williams, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-14. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

On Lee Williams' side, Aivree Austin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Austin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Lee Williams got a massive performance out of Alana Garibaldi, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave Garibaldi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sienna Dooley, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

As of now, neither Copper Canyon nor Lee Williams have any future games scheduled.
