Baseball Game Preview: Panther Creek Catamounts vs. North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights

The Panther Creek Catamounts are taking a road trip to challenge the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Panther Creek will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Panther Creek managed to slip by Green Hope the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Panther Creek came up short against Green Hope on Thursday, falling 17-10. One positive for the Catamounts, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Mason Wagner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jake Day also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Wagner wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Panther Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy came up short against J.H. Rose on Friday and fell 5-2.

Trent Baker was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Jackson Rowlands was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Panther Creek's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
