The Erie Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Douglas County Huskies at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Erie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Erie came out on top against Frederick on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Tigers never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Erie got a great performance from Peyton Watts as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Watts a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Austin Muir and Ronin Ward did most of the damage at the plate: Muir went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Ward went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Erie is 9-1 when Ward posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Jack Carnival also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Erie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frederick only posted an OBP of .125.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Douglas County and Castle View, and Douglas County kept the tradition alive. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sabercats 13-12. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by just one run.
Bricen Moore was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Gunnar Gienger was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Douglas County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Erie, their record now sits at 11-5.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Erie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Douglas County struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
