Softball Recap: Rio Americano Comes Up Short

Rio Americano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of River City. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rio Americano of the 13-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

T Callas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Rio Americano's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for River City, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Coming up, Rio Americano will square off against Argonaut at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for River City, they will challenge Folsom at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
