Baseball Recap: Washington Wins Going Away Against Heritage Hall

Washington has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.5 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Heritage Hall Chargers as they made off with an 18-10 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Mays, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of LD Vinzant, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Washington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Washington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Heritage Hall, they moved to 15-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Washington will challenge Purcell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
