Davies Career & Tech will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Scituate extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Spartans blew past Juanita Sanchez Complex, posting a 35-6 win. That looming 35-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.
Scituate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Dumont, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 45 receiving yards and two scores. Dumont didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made six total tackles (1.0 for loss). John Rubiano did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 153 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Scituate's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Dominic Tosoni refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
Meanwhile, Davies Career & Tech was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout 46-14. The Patriots haven't had any issues with Exeter-West Greenwich/Prout recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Davies Career & Tech's win came from a few key players Scituate will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyrell Barros, who threw for 340 yards and six TDs while completing 79.3% of his passes. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 14 passing touchdowns on the season. Jomar Lopes did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 58 receiving yards.
Scituate's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Davies Career & Tech, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything went Scituate's way against Davies Career & Tech when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Scituate made off with a 35-15 victory.
