Baseball Recap: La Salle College Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for La Salle College's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles on Monday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Explorers were not able to get on the board.

Jack Pye was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

La Salle College's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 12-2. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, La Salle College will be playing at home against Cardinal O'Hara at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Explorers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against Father Judge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
