Softball Recap: Samueli Academy Has No Trouble Against Vista Meridian

Samueli Academy never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Vista Meridian Meridian Eagles. Considering the Firewolves have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kristina Perez, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Dahlia Lara was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs.

Samueli Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 11.6.

Samueli Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.4 runs over those games. As for Vista Meridian, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Samueli Academy nor the Meridian Eagles have any future games scheduled.
