Baseball Recap: Parrish Community Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Parrish Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Bolles Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Wesley Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Ja'Brien Quiles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Sam Torres, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Parrish Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bolles only posted an OBP of .148.

Parrish Community pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bolles, their record is now 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parrish Community will face off against IMG Academy Gold at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bolles, they will welcome Davidson Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Davidson Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Bolles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
