Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Ridge Timberwolves vs. Melbourne Bearkatz

The Cedar Ridge Timberwolves and the Melbourne Bearkatz will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Cedar Ridge earned a 62-54 victory over Izard County.

Meanwhile, Melbourne entered their tilt with Yellville-Summit on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They breezed by the Panthers to the tune of 63-36. The Bearkatz have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season.

Melbourne is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Cedar Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Cedar Ridge didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Melbourne in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory.
