After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elberta, UMS-Wright Prep was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets with a sharp 13-2 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won five games by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kenleigh Hess was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Trawick, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
UMS-Wright Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McGill-Toolen only posted an OBP of .200.
UMS-Wright Prep's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for McGill-Toolen, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6-1.
