Baseball Game Preview: Clermont Northeastern Rockets vs. Goshen Warriors

Clermont Northeastern has won five straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Goshen has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Rockets will welcome the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Clermont Northeastern's offense. They came up short against Blanchester on Saturday, falling 10-0. The Rockets' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Clermont Northeastern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Schmidt, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Goshen and Western Brown meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Warriors fell 7-3 to the Broncos.

Clermont Northeastern's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Goshen, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
