Basketball Recap: West Ridge Comes Up Short

West Ridge was the 64-57 winner over Greeneville when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The West Ridge Wolves fell to the Greeneville Greene Devils 64-59. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Greene Devils 22-16 in the first quarter.

Greeneville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abby Adkins led the charge by dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Those 26 points gave Adkins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maria Lyde, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

West Ridge now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Greeneville, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

West Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chantilly at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for Greeneville, they will be taking part in a tournament against Dobyns-Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
