Basketball Recap: Pleasanton Takes a Loss

Pleasanton lost against Fullerton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pleasanton Bulldogs fell 52-43 to the Fullerton Warriors.

Despite the loss, Pleasanton still got an impressive performance from Brennan Lindner, who posted 29 points. That was a full 67.4% of Pleasanton's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Fullerton found their leader in sophomore Kane Wetovick, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 boards. The match was Wetovick's third in a row with at least ten points. Terrick Gonsior was another key player, putting up seven points.

Pleasanton's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Fullerton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Pleasanton will take on Ansley/Litchfield in a tournament on Tuesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Lindner and Luke Bailey. As for Fullerton, they will be playing at home against Heartland Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on February 8th.
