Basketball Recap: Celebration Falls Despite Big Games from Ricardo Baro and Edson Oliveira Da Silva

Celebration was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 73-58 to the Osceola Kowboys. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 435th, while the Kowboys are ranked 27th).

Celebration's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Edson Oliveira Da Silva, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Ricardo Baro, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Braden Plaisted, who earned nine points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Osceola to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Isaac, who went 10 of 17 on his way to 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Mason, who went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points and five assists.

Celebration's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Osceola, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Celebration has already played their next game, a 68-67 win against East Ridge on the 31st. As for Osceola, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-57 victory against Mount Dora Christian Academy on the 30th.
