Baseball Recap: Springstead Takes a Loss

Springstead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weeki Wachee Hornets. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Nathaniel Sabino was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Henrickson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Springstead's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Weeki Wachee, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springstead will head out to square off against Wiregrass Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weeki Wachee, they will venture away from home to challenge Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weeki Wachee is facing Fivay at the right time seeing as Fivay is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
