Basketball Recap: L'Anse Creuse Takes a Loss

L'Anse Creuse lost against Marine City back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The L'Anse Creuse Lancers took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marine City Mariners.

When it comes to explaining why L'Anse Creuse lost, don't look at Veronica Niarhos. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Niarhos is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Tuladziecki, who scored seven points and three steals.

Even though they lost, L'Anse Creuse smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

L'Anse Creuse has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Marine City, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

L'Anse Creuse has already played their next contest (against Fitzgerald), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marine City has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Roseville.
