Baseball Game Preview: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Pueblo West Cyclones

Vista Ridge is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Pueblo West Cyclones at 4:00 p.m. Pueblo West took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Vista Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Vista Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Crescent Valley two weeks ago as they made off with a 10-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their one-run performance the game before.

Ricky Flugel tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Vista Ridge got a big performance out of Edwin Gutierrez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Reisdorfer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Pueblo West unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Pine Creek by a score of 7-6.

Vista Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Pueblo West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
