Volleyball Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Roosevelt Roughriders
Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Roosevelt Roughriders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roughriders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.
The final score came out to 25-12, 25-13, 25-12.
Sophia Carbajal paced Northridge's offense, picking up 12 kills. Carbajal got some help from Dalanie Jones and her 16 assists.
Roosevelt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kinsey Wells led the charge by getting six digs and five aces. Wells has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Kage, who had nine digs and two aces.
Northridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Northridge will face off against Thompson Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Roosevelt, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Greeley Central on the 8th.
