Baseball Recap: Milan Beats Westview for Their Fourth Straight Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Milan had no problem doing just that on Sunday. They came out on top against the Westview Chargers by a score of 8-4. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Colin Milligan and Whitten Dobbs did most of the damage at the plate: Milligan went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Dobbs went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Milligan has become a key player for Milan: the team is 8-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Kasen Yates was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Milan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Milan now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Westview, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Chargers beat Milan by a score of 12-2 later that day.
