Softball Recap: Taconic Takes a Loss

Taconic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Frontier Regional Red Hawks, falling 12-5. If the Thunder were looking for revenge after losing 13-9 to the Red Hawks when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Taconic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cheyann Goddard, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Kylie Duhamel also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Taconic's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Frontier Regional, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Taconic will challenge rival Mount Greylock Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Frontier Regional is set to square off against their familiar foe Greenfield at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Hawks 3.3, the Green Wave 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
