Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Finds Playoff Glory Versus ACERO Garcia

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hillcrest walked away with it. They blew past the ACERO Garcia Patriots 16-5 on Monday.

Daquan Dennis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Tramell White, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Hillcrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 5-23. As for ACERO Garcia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Hillcrest will challenge Lemont at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lemont HS' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. ACERO Garcia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
