Basketball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was the 68-62 winner over Patrick Henry when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Marion Scarlet Hurricanes took a 69-51 bruising from the Patrick Henry Rebels on Saturday. The Scarlet Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marion now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Patrick Henry, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rural Retreat at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Patrick Henry and Lee will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Patrick Henry knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Lee likes a good challenge.
