The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions will head out to square off against the Green Valley Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Sierra Vista, who comes in off a win.
Sierra Vista took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon. The Mountain Lions haven't had any issues with the Pirate recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
One reason for the win was Sierra Vista's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-12, 25-9.
Meanwhile, Green Valley faced Coronado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Gators fell 3-1 to the Cougars. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 25-14.
Green Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-18. As for Sierra Vista, they pushed their record up to 15-12 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
