Basketball Recap: Bloomington Takes a Loss

Bloomington lost against Richwoods back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bloomington Purple Raiders took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richwoods Knights. The Purple Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Bloomington still got an impressive performance from Tina Lenard, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Lenard is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played.

Bloomington suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 15-11. As for Richwoods, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, Bloomington will take on Morris at 7:30 p.m. on February 17th. As for Richwoods, they have already played their next contest, a 51-10 win against East Moline United on the 10th.
