Softball Recap: Walnut Takes a Loss

Walnut lost against Ripley back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Walnut might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-2 to Ripley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Walnut saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Hicks, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Hicks hit this season.

Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Ripley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12.

Looking ahead, Walnut will be taking part in a tournament against Falkner at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Walnut is facing Falkner at the right time seeing as Falkner is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ripley, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ripley Tigers face off against Pine Grove Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pine Grove will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Ripley surely won't give up without a fight.
