Recap: White County Warriors vs. Stone Memorial Panthers

The White County Warriors were the 57-50 winner over the Stone Memorial Panthers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. White County fell 46-39 to Stone Memorial on Tuesday. White County found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.

Despite the loss, White County still got an impressive performance from Tripp Pinion, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pinion has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cole Sims, who scored 11 points along with four steals.

White County struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Cade Capps was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds for Stone Memorial. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which Capps has scored at least a third of Stone Memorial's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Lane, who scored 11 points.

White County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Stone Memorial, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White County will take on Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully White County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Stone Memorial, they will head out on the road to challenge Livingston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Livingston Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 219 points over their last three games.
