Basketball Recap: Mainland Regional Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Mainland Regional Mustangs came up short against the Howell Rebels and fell 50-38. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Rebels are ranked 33rd).

Mainland Regional has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Howell, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Mainland Regional has already played their next match, a 57-56 win against Holy Spirit on the 3rd. Howell has also already played their next game (against Manasquan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
