Volleyball Recap: Westfield Beats Trinity Lutheran for Their Third Straight Win

Westfield barely beat Trinity Lutheran the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Shamrocks blew past the Cougars 3-0 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Shamrocks, who have now won three games in a row.

Westfield walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 25-17.

Westfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Blevins led the charge by getting 16 assists and three aces. That's the most aces Blevins has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendyl Strack, who had eight digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Westfield was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Trinity Lutheran, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.

Westfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Harrison on the 26th. As for Trinity Lutheran, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Columbus North on the 26th.
