Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Mary's Academy can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Bayfield Wolverines on Saturday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-18, 25-15.

Bayfield can attribute much of their success to Lauren Rich, who had 11 digs and three assists. Rich has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played. Player #8 also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

St. Mary's Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Bayfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, St. Mary's Academy and Bayfield will both be playing Peak to Peak the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Pumas at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
