Baseball Game Preview: Stivers School for the Arts Tigers vs. Belmont Bison

The Stivers School for the Arts Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Belmont Bison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Stivers School for the Arts has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Belmont will arrive with three straight victories.

Stivers School for the Arts lost 18-4 to Trotwood-Madison on Friday.

Meanwhile, Belmont made easy work of Meadowdale on Wednesday and carried off a 21-5 win. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 15 runs or more this season.

Gavin Bradley made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Bradley was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Belmont got a massive performance out of Carter Blankenship, who went 3-for-6 with six stolen bases and three runs. Jordan Blankenship was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases and three runs.

Stivers School for the Arts' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Belmont, their record now sits at 6-1.

Everything went Stivers School for the Arts' way against Belmont when the teams last played back in April of 2015, as Stivers School for the Arts made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
