Basketball Recap: North Panola Takes a Loss

North Panola lost against Horn Lake back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The North Panola Cougars came up short against the Horn Lake Eagles, falling 86-60. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Eagles are ranked 18th).

North Panola has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Horn Lake, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Panola will challenge Coahoma County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coahoma County will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something North Panola surely won't give up without a fight. As for Horn Lake, they will face off against Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Horn Lake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.
